Cherry Hill

Welcome To Cherry Hill

This little Camden County township wows with top-tier shopping and a reputation for family-friendly neighborhoods

When you’re driving through Cherry Hill in the spring, it’s hard to miss one of the city’s most recognizable facets: the rows of resplendent pink cherry blossom trees lining Chapel Avenue like a fairytale pathway. Renowned for its excellent shopping, convenient location, and great schools, the township remains one of the most desirable communities in the state.

Cherry Hill was first settled by the Lenni-Lenape tribes, which remained in the area until the first arrival of Europeans in the late 17th century — specifically, the Quaker followers of William Penn. After a post-WWII population boom, Cherry Hill grew into the second most populated community in Camden County.

A mix of architectural styles and price ranges keeps the residential real estate in Cherry Hill diverse, and the township is home to a large number of covetable, quiet neighborhoods that harbor newer-build and late 20th-century single-family homes. Brick townhomes, traditional and custom designs, Colonials, spacious ranches, and lavish executive homes are all available in droves, and the township even contains a few imposing manors and estates ripe with grandeur.

Cherry Hill is, in part, known for its magnificent array of shopping opportunities. Just off New Jersey 38, the Cherry Hill Mall offers a bounty of upscale shopping options. Brands like Apple, lululemon, Guess and Michael Kors populate the halls of Cherry Hill Mall, which even boasts a Peloton studio, classic mall fare like Häagan Dazs and Cinnabon, and several annual events.

Dining in Cherry Hill is a leisurely experience that features a great culinary variety. Caffe Aldo Lamberti is one of the best Italian eateries in all of Southern New Jersey, dishing up comfort favorites such as house-made pasta and succulent seafood. The restaurant has also garnered quite a following for its extensive raw bar and impressive wine cellars.

Across the highway, Zoë’s Kitchen is another much-loved local restaurant. Here the ever-sumptuous Mediterranean cuisine is elevated through the use of the freshest ingredients. The restaurant cultivates a welcoming environment with a focus on creating life-long connections and memories among its diners.

Things To Do

Fall in love with the charming history of Cherry Hill by visiting its unique Quaker heritage sites — specifically The Barclay Farmstead Museum. A living history museum, the Barclay Farmstead Farmstead displays the agrarian roots of the town through its fully maintained farmhouse, plant-a-patch gardens, and leisurely nature trails that span its 32 acres.

Outdoor enthusiasts have plenty of variety when it comes to outdoor recreation. Cooper River and its verdant park keep residents active with opportunities for boating, fishing, and biking. The park also has amenities such as a beloved dog park, several sports fields, a playground, pavilions, and picnic spaces.

More than 170 acres of soft, rolling green space await you at the revered Woodcrest Country Club, whose long-standing tradition of excellence dates back to its inception in 1926. Spectacular dining and a lovely 18-hole golf course are just a few of the alluring facets of the club, which also acts as the busiest wedding venue in Cherry Hill.
